The Momotxorro is a character of unknown origin Alsasua Carnival: is half man and half bull.
The custom disappeared in the 1930s, and recovered in 1990, although this did not please the old people of the place, as the memory of these characters was linked to stories of looting, theft and even sexual assault.
It is one of the characters in the Basque carnival more violent and sexual charge: through the streets with his sarde (the gallows) frightening and "attacking" who are in its path, and into people's houses to "loot" inside . Have horns and covered their faces with handkerchiefs or horsehair. They wear a white shirt stained with blood, and sheepskins. They wear blue pants, white socks and sandals. Noise rise bells sewn sheepskin or hung around the waist.
